Is Mass Effect LE Worth It Today?
Mass Effect Legendary Edition is PACKED with DLC and content that you would otherwise have had to pay for separately 10 years ago.
Now, Even if you catch this saga on sale for under 30 dollars, you are still getting all the DLC and 3 games for 10 dollars a piece! Now that is a good deal!
Overview
You play as Commander Shepard. A Human Alliance Soldier, and the best of the best.
Your Shepard has been handpicked to lead humanity to greatness on its next biggest discovery since Faster Than Light Travel.
On character select, You choose a Female Shepard or A Male Shepard, your class, and your background. Classes are unique from each other, and the background you choose has some weight to your actions and how people react to you in the universe.
Over the course of 3 games, Bioware will allow the player to import your beautiful Shepard into your next game.
Along with your good actions or renegade actions, some decisions and consequences carry though all 3 games! So be very careful who you save or kill, as this is the truest and greatest aspect of an RPG. Some Characters have some very cool cuts scenes, but if you miss them, there is always another play though!
Lets Boil It Down.
Gameplay And Story
Though out the series, the camera, the writing, and the pacing of the story greatly improves, and always values your time.
As this game is a blend of story and fighting, its not without its merits.
Classes Range From Sniper/Infiltrator, To Shotgun/Vanguard, To Tech Specialist and Hacking To A Pure Biotic badass that bends reality to your will.
These Classes do not feel under powered whatsoever, as they all do something better than another class you picked.
Camera Movement feels a tad sluggish when you are running but it can be overlooked. The Camera and sprint have been improved greatly in Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3.
Skilling and Abilities are useful in every fight. Not once did I find myself not needing to use something, and on the Insanity Difficulty, its almost needed to keep your squad abilities to yourself, so that you can inflict massive DPS on something that is holding you up.
The Galaxy Map and The Normandy Have a wealth of adventure. From Excellent Companions and their voice actors, to quirky tidbits of conversation, this universe will suck you in and you’ll keep asking for more.
Romancing A crew mate is fun and rewarding, as you can delve into Shepards intimate life, and maybe find love among the stars.
(I romanced Liara, as she is beautiful and intelligent and driven… Don’t look at me like that…)
Enemy AI becomes very aggressive and they can push you and surround you if you play on the harder difficulties. Insanity Difficulty Is No Joke.
Enemy types and their resistances vary depending on missions and no one mission ever feels like your fighting the same thing over and over again. However i recommend playing on a normal difficulty if you are brand new to these games.
Insanity difficulty is a whole new beast entirely. Shoot until your shield breaks and then get back into cover. Its a bit slower, but you wont die every time, I promise! ( I 100 percent the game) Then just spam your crew mates abilities with the speed of light!
We are not going to spoil anything here, but do you see that machine in the screenshot above? He told me that he cant wait for you to play though the series.
Gregs Gavel
Mass Effect Is a stellar Sci-fi series that anyone with a open mind and a sense of adventure should come to enjoy.
Its Characters are some of the best I have ever had the pleasure of listening to and making judgements about. The story has come to be my favorite of all time and you could not believe my excitement when this game came to market again. The Bugs are still there, and some of them I recognize from my teenage years in highschool.
But all bugs aside, they have not been game breaking.
This story is a MUST to witness for yourself, as your actions become the story, and with it, the story becomes you, and you become the story!
Mass Effect Legendary Edition Gets a 10/10 MUST play from me.
